This lesson talks about the pirates in the past and nowadays. Pirates attack the ship whether it is berthed, at anchor or at sea with th intent to commit theft. But, piracy on the high sea is far less common than the everyday piracy of intellectual property that may of us practice. They discourages innovation and adds to the cost of the product. To defend against piracy, the intellcetual property industry has been trying several approaches, including education, leagal prosecution, copy protection and compromise. Today's pirates have good reason to stop stealing and obey the law.
